Precision Alignment and Measurement
Accurate positioning is essential for successful ADAS calibration. The MA800 combines laser-assisted alignment, reflective positioning accessories and adjustable frame components to help technicians establish the correct relationship between the vehicle and calibration target.
Three-Axis Frame Adjustment
Pitch
Forward and backward frame tilt.
Roll
Side-to-side frame tilt.
Yaw
Rotational alignment relative to the vehicle.
These independent adjustments help technicians fine-tune the frame orientation when working on surfaces that are not perfectly level, while following the vehicle manufacturer’s specified positioning tolerances.
Laser-Assisted Setup and Validation
- Laser-Guided Alignment: Assists with positioning the frame relative to the vehicle.
- Reflective Alignment Accessories: Support the positioning and alignment process.
- Target Height: Helps verify that the calibration target is installed at the specified height.
- Target Distance: Supports verification of the required distance between the vehicle and calibration target.
- Vehicle-to-Frame Distance: Helps confirm the correct calibration frame position.
- OEM Tolerance Verification: Compatible MaxiSYS software assists with checking supported measurements against manufacturer requirements.
Note: The Laser Measurement Unit is included. Tablet-integrated measurement validation requires a compatible MaxiSYS diagnostic tablet and supported ADAS software.
ADAS Calibration Functions
The MA800 is an expandable ADAS calibration platform. The functions available depend on the vehicle, diagnostic tablet, software, calibration targets and accessories installed.
| Function | Application | Kit Status |
|---|---|---|
| LDW Lane Departure Warning |
Static calibration of applicable forward-facing camera systems used for lane monitoring. | Targets included |
| ACC Adaptive Cruise Control |
Applicable radar and distance-monitoring calibration procedures. | Additional equipment required |
| BSD Blind Spot Detection |
Applicable blind spot sensor calibration procedures. | Additional equipment required |
| AVM Around View Monitoring |
Applicable surround-view camera calibration procedures. | Additional equipment required |
Important: This is the MA800 LDW Kit configuration. ACC, BSD, AVM and other calibration functions may require additional targets, radar equipment, accessories and software not supplied in this package.
Static vs Dynamic ADAS Calibration
- Static Calibration: Performed while the vehicle is stationary using precisely positioned calibration targets. The MA800 provides the physical frame and positioning equipment for applicable static procedures.
- Dynamic Calibration: Performed while driving under manufacturer-specified conditions, which may include particular speeds, road markings, weather and road environments.
Depending on the vehicle and ADAS system, calibration may require a static procedure, a dynamic procedure or both. A compatible MaxiSYS diagnostic tablet with the required ADAS software provides guided instructions for supported applications.
When is ADAS Calibration Required?
ADAS calibration may be necessary after repairs or adjustments that affect camera, radar or sensor positioning.
Note: Calibration requirements vary by vehicle. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s service and calibration procedures, even when no ADAS warning light is displayed.
LDW Calibration Vehicle Coverage
The supplied LDW Kit includes calibration targets and aids for applicable vehicles from the following manufacturers:
Compatibility Note: Target compatibility depends on the vehicle model, year, camera system and manufacturer calibration requirements. Having a manufacturer’s target included does not guarantee compatibility with every vehicle from that manufacturer.
Always verify vehicle-specific calibration requirements and target compatibility before performing a calibration.
