The AUTOOL HTS558 Walnut Blaster Engine Carbon Cleaning Machine is a professional automotive carbon cleaning system designed to remove stubborn carbon deposits from engine intake manifolds and valves. Using high-pressure compressed air and walnut shell abrasive, the HTS558 provides effective physical carbon removal without relying on chemical cleaning agents.
Designed for automotive workshops and engine specialists, the HTS558 combines walnut blasting with a powerful 1200W recovery system. During cleaning, the walnut shell media and removed carbon are recovered into the machine, where an integrated filter separates the carbon contamination from the abrasive so that the walnut shell media can be reused.

Key Features
- Walnut Shell Carbon Cleaning: Uses walnut shell abrasive and high-pressure compressed air to physically remove stubborn carbon deposits from engine intake components.
- Intake Manifold Cleaning: Designed to clean carbon accumulation inside the engine intake manifold and intake passages.
- Intake and Exhaust Valve Cleaning: Walnut blasting removes accumulated carbon from compatible valve areas without requiring the valves themselves to be removed from the engine.
- 1200W Recovery Motor: Powerful suction recovers walnut shell abrasive and loosened carbon during the cleaning process.
- Simultaneous Blasting and Recovery: The system blasts walnut media into the cleaning area while simultaneously recovering used abrasive and removed carbon.
- Reusable Walnut Shell Media: An integrated filter separates carbon deposits from the recovered walnut shell abrasive, allowing suitable media to be reused.
- 13L Capacity: Large internal media capacity supports professional workshop use without constant refilling.
- Multiple Vehicle Adapters: Includes five adapters to accommodate different intake configurations across a variety of vehicle applications.
- Dual-Speed Operation: Low and high operating modes allow the machine to be adjusted according to the level of carbon accumulation.
- Mobile Workshop Design: A 360-degree swivel caster makes the HTS558 easier to position and move around the workshop.

How Walnut Blasting Works
The HTS558 uses an external air compressor to propel fine walnut shell abrasive through the blasting nozzle and into the engine intake passage. The high-speed walnut particles impact the carbon deposits, breaking them away from the underlying surface.
A specialised recovery adapter and suction system collect the walnut shell media together with the removed carbon. The machine’s filtration system then separates the contamination from the walnut media, allowing suitable abrasive to be reused.

Engine Carbon Cleaning Applications
- Intake Manifold Cleaning: Removes accumulated carbon from compatible engine intake passages.
- Intake Valve Cleaning: Particularly useful for removing stubborn deposits from intake valves and ports.
- Exhaust Valve Cleaning: Supports cleaning of compatible exhaust valve areas using the appropriate blasting procedure.
- Engine Intake Port Cleaning: Removes heavy carbon deposits from accessible intake ports.

Reusable Walnut Shell Abrasive
The HTS558 is designed for use with walnut shell abrasive measuring approximately 0.6 to 1.2 mm. Under normal operating conditions, suitable walnut shell media can be reused approximately 5 to 10 times.
The built-in filtration system helps separate removed carbon from the recovered walnut abrasive, reducing media waste and simplifying the cleaning process.
__
Air Compressor Requirements
An external air compressor is required to operate the blasting system. The compressor should be capable of supplying at least 6 bar, with air pressure up to approximately 0.7 MPa.
For best results, a compressor fitted with a dryer filter is recommended. Moisture in the compressed air can cause walnut shell abrasive to clump, which may reduce blasting performance or interfere with media flow.
Important: The air compressor is not built into the HTS558 and must be supplied separately.

Vehicle Compatibility
The AUTOOL HTS558 is designed for use across a wide range of vehicles and includes five adapters for different intake configurations.
Compatibility depends on access to the intake system and the ability to correctly seal the cleaning adapter against the intake port. The intake valve being cleaned must be completely closed before walnut blasting begins.
__
Setup and Operation
- Add approximately 3 to 5 kg of suitable 0.6 to 1.2 mm walnut shell abrasive to the machine.
- Remove the engine intake manifold to gain access to the intake ports and valves.
- Inspect the carbon deposits and ensure the intake valve being cleaned is fully closed.
- Select and install the appropriate cleaning adapter.
- Connect the blasting nozzle and recovery hose.
- Connect a suitable external air compressor.
- Select the appropriate low or high operating mode according to the carbon buildup.
- Blast and recover the walnut media while cleaning the intake passage.
- Inspect the cleaned area and repeat where necessary.
- After cleaning, remove any remaining walnut shell particles from the intake area before reassembly.
